Web Developer (Remote)

Role Overview

The Web Developer will support the development, optimization, and maintenance of Qavaa Innovate’s digital platforms.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of modern web development, a passion for learning, and an interest in technology-driven social impact initiatives.

This position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

Web Development

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications and digital platforms.
• Transform UI/UX designs into responsive, modern, and high-performing web experiences.
• Develop new features and enhance existing functionality.
• Integrate APIs and third-party services when required.

Optimization & Quality

• Identify and resolve bugs and technical issues.
• Improve application performance, security, and accessibility.
• Ensure compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Participate in testing and continuous code quality improvements.

Collaboration

• Work closely with designers, developers, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and Agile development processes.
• Contribute to technical documentation and project knowledge sharing.

Innovation & Growth

• Stay up to date with modern web technologies and best practices.
• Propose technical and functional improvements.
• Support innovation and digital transformation initiatives within the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Experience with at least one backend technology such as Python/Django, Node.js/Express, PHP/Laravel, Java/Spring Boot, or equivalent.
• Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server architecture.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full-stack development experience.
• Experience with WordPress, including theme and plugin customization.
• Knowledge of TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience working on EdTech, nonprofit, or social impact projects.
