Software Testing Intern (Remote)

Role Overview

The Software Testing Intern will support the quality assurance process of Qavaa Innovate’s digital platforms by identifying issues, validating features, and ensuring a smooth user experience.

The intern will work closely with developers, designers, and project teams to test applications, report bugs, and contribute to continuous product improvement.

This role is ideal for students, recent graduates, or aspiring QA engineers who want to develop their skills in software testing and quality assurance.

This position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Execute manual tests to validate application features and user workflows.
  • Create and maintain test cases based on project requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using appropriate tools.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are properly resolved.
  • Perform regression testing after new releases or updates.
  • Help ensure applications meet quality, usability, and performance standards.

API & Functional Testing

  • Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar platforms.
  • Validate API responses, data accuracy, and error handling.
  • Perform functional testing across different application features.
  • Assist in identifying potential usability and technical issues.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, designers, and product teams.
  • Participate in team meetings, sprint reviews, and testing discussions.
  • Provide clear feedback to improve product quality.
  • Contribute to testing documentation and quality processes.

Learning & Growth

  • Learn software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
  • Develop skills in test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Discover automated testing concepts and tools.
  • Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced team members.
  • Gain experience working in an Agile software development environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of software development concepts.
  • Interest in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
  • Ability to follow instructions and document findings clearly.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn and improve technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing websites, mobile applications, or software projects.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Postman, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • Interest in educational technology, nonprofit initiatives, or social impact projects.
