Qavaa Innovate is a nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping youth and women with the digital, technological, and entrepreneurial skills required to thrive in the 21st century.

Across our communities, millions of young people still lack access to basic digital literacy, modern tools, and opportunities to participate in the growing digital economy. This digital divide limits economic mobility, employability, and long-term growth.

Our work spans digital literacy, tech training, career preparation, and social impact programs,  from school lab renovations to learning material distribution.
Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and access to real-world practical experiences, we empower the next generation of African innovators, creators, and problem-solvers.

This internship is part of our mission to provide young talent with meaningful skill-building opportunities while contributing to impactful digital projects that benefit communities.

Required Skills

  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
  • Ability to work independently and manage remote collaboration effectively.
  • Residence in Guinea, Togo, or Niger.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WordPress (themes, plugins, or builders).
  • Basic understanding of React, Next.js, or other modern frameworks.

Responsible For

Role Overview

We are looking for a Web Development Intern to support the growth of our digital initiatives and contribute to the development and improvement of Qavaa Innovate’s web platforms. This role is ideal for motivated students or young developers who want to strengthen their front-end and web-development skills while working on real projects that enhance access to information, training, and community programs. You will work fully remotely and collaborate with our Development team to build, optimize, and maintain web experiences that support our beneficiaries, partners, and programs. This internship is open only to candidates residing in Guinea, Togo, or Niger.   Key Responsibilities Web Development & Integration
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Qavaa Innovate web platforms.
  • Translate UI/UX designs and mockups into high-quality responsive web pages.
  • Implement best practices in accessibility, user experience, and performance.
Optimization & Quality
  • Diagnose and fix bugs, UI issues, layout inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Optimize loading speed, structure, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
Collaboration & Delivery
  • Work with the Development team to implement features, components, and improvements.
  • Participate in sprint reviews, code discussions, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
  • Follow coding standards and contribute to clean, maintainable code.
Learning & Growth
  • Stay up to date with modern JavaScript, CSS frameworks, and CMS tools.
  • Participate in mentoring sessions and receive regular feedback to accelerate your growth.
  • Explore new technologies relevant to Qavaa Innovate’s mission (React, Next.js, WordPress, etc.).
